I kept her original name because it really suits her. She is very photogenic

and somewhat more serious than Savannah, yet they get on very well.

They love chatting and it's not uncommon for them to sit up till the wee hours

of the morning yapping!

This is Briehannah. She is from Ireland ... literally. Her parents are Swiss, but she was born in Ireland. When her parents passed away, she was sent to live with me. Coming to South Africa was quite a change for her and suddenly being part of a rather large family, didn't help.Finding herself having feelings for her 'brother in-law', did not make her popular with her adopted sisters. However, they stood by her and helped her work through her feelings without anything happening. She is fine now. In fact, she is about to get married herself and I dare say she will be a lovely bride! Her fiance is Trent Cavendish (and a 'dish' he certainly is!).

This is Caycee. 

She is a beautiful young lady who happens to love purple. Caycee also likes the outdoors, especially the beach and she is very photogenic. She is a fun-loving person who laughs easily, yet she is also a sensitive, caring soul. Being part of a large family, she values her 'alone' time.

 She is a 2013 Theresa Beach Barbie.

This is my eldest daughter, Elizabeth, with her daughter, Echo. Elizabeth is a widow. Thankfully, being part of a large family, she has had lots of help with Echo, who can be quite a handful. This photo was taken the evening of Echo's prom. She looks so much like her dad when she looks sideways like that! Elizabeth is very proud of her daughter and they are quite close.

Hmm, not sure you going to be able to read that. But I will be sharing individual photo's and stories.

Well it's been a while (to put it mildly) since I've done any blogging, but now I hope to rectify that. What I also plan to do is introduce my dolls to all of you. Yes I know, I still play with dolls. Shocking! lol.
I started by designing and knitting clothes, working out the pattern as I went along. Two dolls were bought (cheapies) to try on the clothes. When, exactly, it became about the dolls and not the clothes, I do not know. These days I find it difficult to resist a pretty new face (blush, blush).
My 'collection' started with Barbies and progressed to include other dolls like Steffi, Glamour girls, Susy, BJD, Heart 4 heart girls, etc.
Oh yes, I do still knit and sew for them ... occasionally ;)

Disciple. Shepherd. What does it all mean?

The dictionary describes a disciple as being: ‘one who professes to receive instruction from another’ and also as, ‘one who follows.’ A shepherd on the other hand, is described as: ‘one who guides, watches over and protects the interest of another.’

 But what does God say? Imagine for a moment that you’re sitting reading a ‘heavenly’ newspaper. You turn to the job section, desperate for employment. There are only two jobs available; each willing to take as many people as would accept the terms. This is how it reads:



WANTED: DISCIPLES

“Vacancies exist for people who are willing to give up their rights in favor of their Employer. You must be willing to totally renounce everything that takes your attention away from your Employer and what said Employer wants you to do. Successful candidates will be required to leave behind everything that captured their heart thus far in favor of their new Employer. Employer demands that all prospective employees be people who are willing to serve, no matter how menial the task. Applicants who are successful will be required to love all their colleagues as they love themselves. Total, unswerving trust in your Employer is essential, as is the ability to take instructions. Employer will only accept that you love Him if you obey Him. Last, but not least: Successful candidates are required to be productive in recruiting new staff.”


REMUNERATION
Employer will adopt you as His child. Upon your death, you will receive a glorious inheritance. However, those who are willing may start unpacking their inheritance while on earth. Employer will always supply all your needs. He promises that His love for you is unconditional and everlasting. You will also be allowed to dwell with Him in the city that has streets of gold, forever.

WANTED: SHEPHERDS

“Vacancies exist for people already qualified as disciples, as successful candidates will need to work very closely with the Chief Shepherd. All those wishing to become shepherds must be able to accept being mocked, insulted and misunderstood, primarily by those outside the company, but not exclusively so. The post requires people who have learnt how to collect food from the Chief Shepherd and distribute it to the sheep. It is therefore imperative that you have sound references to prove previous experience in servantship. Successful applicants will be required to be diligent in keeping watch over the sheep. However, should sheep still manage to wander off, the shepherd will be required to go after said sheep after sitting at the Chief Shepherds feet about the matter. This will require that all prospective shepherds have a love for sheep. (What you have will be added to as you sit at the Chief Shepherds feet on behalf of the sheep.) Lastly, successful candidates will be required to lay down their life – literally if need be.”

REMUNERATION
In addition to what you receive for being a disciple, you will be made to ‘shine like the brightness of the heavens’. You will be put in charge of many things and given a crown of glory.
